SILCAPOR is a construction material production technology, which means an assortment of wall elements with different dimensions (width, length and height). SILCAPORI is of inorganic mineral origin, expressly lightweight construction material, which is produced industrially, with a specific brand of cellular concrete.
SILCAPORI has a porous structure which gives the material special properties:
The structure of porous concrete is determined by the pores formed in the mass, as an important factor in influencing physical properties such as:
SILCAPOR products are completely natural composition (quartz sand, cement, lime, water) which have very little radioactivity compared to the allowed value (10 times less), or 3.5 times less than the value of the clay material. SILCAPORI is one of the healthiest construction materials, which has been proven by certificates and documentation of analyzes made in European and world countries where this material is produced.
SILCAPOR's products consist of natural materials:
During the production process, a little aluminum suspension is added, which dissolves during the mass swelling process. All such materials do not harm the environment during the technological production process, but even as a finished product it is healthy for living. Along with production, there are also internal and state certificates related to quality.
Dimensions 25 to 40 cm, besides as an insulating material, they are also applied as a load of building constructions with the 0.45/3.5 brand. While for lighter weights, the 0.420/2.5 brands can also be applied.
For the walls separating two living spaces where a higher sound insulation is required, dimensions above 25 cm are applied.
SILCAPORI as a building material with light volumetric weight as a structural carrier is also incomparable as a thermal insulator with a heat transfer coefficient K = 0.42 W/m²k coefficient which meets the required European standards. Especially if dim blocks are applied to the exterior walls. 30 to 40 cm, in which case the energy for heating or cooling the object will be saved (40-50%), compared to other classic construction materials.
SILCAPORI as a construction material is among the most resistant to fire compared to baked clay and reinforced concrete materials. From laboratory research in Ljubljana, Slovenia, the results obtained show that the wall made of porous concrete material with dim. 10 cm, not plastered, survived the fire for 120 min. without damaging the internal structure.
The internal porous structure of the material, which is connected with micro and macro capillaries, made this material very resistant to frost. These properties of the material make it possible to use it in construction even in winter.
SILCAPORI absorbs water from the air in percentage like all other materials. Penetrability is up to 3.5cm in depth. The residence time of water capillaries in the SILCAPOR material is much shorter than in other materials because it is released very easily.
SILCAPORI as a construction material in the porous structure, has closed pores that make it possible to close the noise, but that depends to a considerable extent on the volumetric weight, which compared to other construction materials with the same volumetric weight, (about 9dBl) is more isolating.
SILCAPORI is a material of inorganic origin, therefore as such it is durable and indestructible from external influences. The extension life is very long like all other concretes. Although as a technology for the production of porous concrete it is new, which has its origins in the 19th century, from the Scandinavian countries, respectively in Sweden. Even the oldest object, which is 80 years old, is in Sweden produced for the first time from this material, an object that will live for hundreds of years.
Objects made of the SILCAPOR material due to very special structural properties compared to other classic construction materials, and especially due to the light volumetric weight, withstand seismic movements much more easily and with few consequences.
SILCAPORI is inorganic of concrete origin, so cockroaches cannot use it as food, they cannot pierce it, therefore they cannot even live in such a space. No wall has been found from this material which had signs of their existence.
The application of SILCAPOR as a material in the object reduces the construction time due to the correct dimensions of the blocks, then by calculating the smallest amount of reinforcement that must be inserted into the object due to the smaller volumetric weight of the porous concrete, and when the plastering is also calculated the interior, especially the exterior plastering, which does not need to add another layer of thermal or acoustic insulating material, costs during construction are reduced by 15-25%, depending on the type of object.
If we continue the calculations of occupancy in the building as a function of time due to high thermal insulation, then the results are even better when you consider that energy costs are 2-3 times lower in the winter season for heating, respectively in the summer for cooling the facility.
For the connection of porous concrete elements, an adequate binder (adhesive) of white color is mainly required, a thin layer covering the entire contact surface with a thickness of (2-3 mm), in the horizontal and vertical part of the correspondence of the contact surface, using adequate shovels for adhesive extension.
With the application of construction rules in the wall with SILCAPOR elements, there are never cracks in the wall. Mainly one should be careful in the rules of dilatation. If these rules are not provided, or the first order is not placed in a straight layer of plaster or the layers of glue are not spread well, then there is a possibility of cracking the wall or the plaster layer.
If we compare the price of the SILCAPOR block with other walling materials per m³, our block is the most expensive. But when calculated in m², then SILCAPORI is cheaper compared to other construction materials.
These analyzes and calculations are simple, bearing in mind that when you buy the SILCAPOR material, you also buy the thermal insulation - together, since this possibility does not exist with other materials. Speed in construction that reduces construction cost. High thermal insulation of the material eliminates
expenses for the purchase of other expensive insulating layers.
The correct dimensions require the application of thin layers of bonding glue but also thin layers of external and internal plastering, for heating and cooling the living environment 2-3 times, the energy costs are lower.
